Vehicle Access Control
A
number of restraint-based measures can be used to reduce or re-distribute
demand for road use. One such measure that is receiving increasing attention
is vehicle access control. This involves confining access to certain areas
or roads to particular types of road users or vehicles.
Vehicle access control can be used to reduce congestion, to improve town and city environments or to increase safety. We have experts within TTR who have worked on schemes and studies that control access according to a range of criteria, including vehicle emission standards and vehicle types.
