TTR
has assisted UK local authorities to participate in European research programmes
and to gain access to funds for demonstration projects. During the 1990's,
TTR won roughly £1 million annually for UK local authorities from EC research
and demonstration programmes.
Many authorities find that participation in such projects is a valuable way of exchanging experience with other cities. These experiences can provide useful lessons for the development of innovative transport schemes in the UK. It can also generate further national funding.
TTR has participated in over 50 collaborative projects involving researchers, cities and transport operators around Europe, in many cases as the Project Co-ordinator or Evaluation Manager. We have undertaken work for the transport and energy, environment, research information society and employment and social affairs Directorates of the European Commission.
