Expertise: Public & Stakeholder Consultation

Stakeholder consultation is becoming a cornerstone in the development and evaluation of transport policies and strategies. Done well, it ensures that all stakeholders have an opportunity to influence the planning process, and it can create a feeling of scheme ownership among the local population.

Public and stakeholder consultation is a major strand of TTR work. We have extensive experience in consultation using one-to-one interviews, hall events, focus groups and quantitative market research surveys. Our consultation work ranges from strategic planning assignments to more localised schemes. We regularly undertake consultation with a variety of stakeholder groups.

Over the years we have developed the following skills which are key to successful consultation:

  • Listening to people
  • Identifying their needs
  • Building consensus
  • Engendering ownership of schemes

We can provide the following services:

  • Setting up links with stakeholder organisations
  • Developing networks
  • Consultation planning
  • Survey design and analysis
  • Organising workshops, hall events, focus groups and one-to-one surveys
  • Full assessment and recommendations
